Obituary for William E. Kollman

William E. Kollman, 85, of Indianapolis, IN died November 15, 2004. He was born December 1, 1918 to the late Edward Kollman and Norma (Dorrell) Kollman. He married Mary Jane Brandenburg on April 30, 1944. He was a 1936 Decatur Central High School Graduate. He was a Army Staff SGT in World War II. He attended West Newton United Methodist Church. He is a member of the West Newton Masonic Lodge #707 F&AM, Scottish Rite-Indianapolis Valley, Murat Shrine of which he was President of the "Directors Staff" in 1978 and was currently a member of the "Directors Staff" and had also been Potentates Aid. He was a member of The Court 15 Loyal Order of Jesters and was involved in the Decatur TWP Republican Party. He was a Mechanic-Welder for Eli Lilly for 16 years, retiring in 1982. From 1950-1967 he was an Owner-operator of Kollman-Cochran Phillips 66 service station in Decatur TWP. He was a bus driver for Decatur TWP Schools for 9 years. He also was Owner-operator of the Woodland Motel in Decatur TWP for 7 years.

He is survived by Wife: Mary Jane (Brandenburg) Kollman of Indianapolis, IN; 1 Daughter: Janet Lee Gaskins of Brown County; 3 Grandchildren: Cassi Jo Hendershot, Jason and Jeremiah Gaskins; 2 Great Granddaughters: Kylie and Josie Hendershot; 1 Sister: Margaret Prather of Arizona; He is preceded in death by 1 Brother: Howard Harvey.

Visitation is 3-8pm Thursday, November 18, 2004 at Jones Family Mortuary. Funeral will be at 11am Friday, November 19, 2004 at Jones Family Mortuary. He will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to Murat Temple "Transportation Fund" or The Burns Childrens Hospital.
