Obituary for Violet Marie McClure (Carter)

Violet Marie (Carter) McClure, 96, of Camby, went to be with the Lord on December 12, 2016, just in time for Christmas. Violet was born to Clyde W. and Rhoda (Ogle) Carter on March 11, 1920 in Bloomington. She married Donald L. McClure on February 27, 1940.

Violet was a homemaker. She was a member of Way Of The Cross Baptist Church in Camby and former member of the Mooresville Senior Center. She enjoyed quilting and singing with the choir at church. She lived in Camby for most of her life.

Violet is survived by three children, Carole Ooley of Plainfield, Donald R. (Donna) McClure of Monrovia, Curtis McClure of Camby; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Violet is preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Jerry and Douglas McClure; and five siblings.

Family and friends may gather for calling hours from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2016 and 9-10 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2016 in Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Billy Gott will officiate Violet's celebration of life service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2016 in Jones Family Mortuary. Violet will be laid to rest in West Newton Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions can be made to either Disabled American Veterans or Amvets.
