Obituary for Thomas E. Clayton

Thomas E. Clayton, 90, of Sheridan, IN, died on March 18, 2012. Thomas was born to Raymond E. & Anna J. (Thomas) Clayton on August 1, 1921 in Marion, IN. Thomas graduated from Shortridge High School in 1939 and attended Butler University for 2 years. Thomas was a Navy World War II Veteran. Thomas married MaDonna (Lustig) Clayton on February 15, 1947.

Thomas was a Salesman for Bessire & Company in Indianapolis, IN for 31 years. Thomas was a past member of United States Coast Guard Auxillary in Myrtle Beach, SC. Thomas was an avid golfer. Thomas lived most of his life in Indianapolis, IN and his birthplace of Marion, IN for 4 years.

Thomas is survived by 3 children, Patricia Johnson of Indianapolis, IN, Robert (Becky) Clayton of Sheridan, IN & Connie (Steve) Sherwood of New Palestine, IN; 5 grandchildren, Eric (Katie), Trey & Abby Clayton, Keith & Kelsie Sherwood. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond E. & Anna J. (Thomas) Clayton and his wife, MaDonna (Lustig) Clayton.

Pastor Steve Martin will officiate the 11:30am graveside service on Friday, March 23, 2012 at West Newton Cemetery.
