Obituary for Sylvia Davis

Sylvia (Palmer) Davis, 88, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Meadow Lakes . She was born October 3, 1927 in Ipswich, England to the late George and Beatrice (Fordyke) Palmer. She married the late James O. Davis on November 4, 1945.

Sylvia lived in Indianapolis for most of he life. She worked for Balkamp in Indianapolis in inventory control for close to 50 years. She was a proud homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She was a member of English War Brides.

Sylvia is survived by 3 children: Larry (Teresa) Davis of Monrovia, Pat (Judy) Davis of Brownsburg and Nancy (John) Mutz of Mooresville; 10 grandchildren: Mike, Angel, Larry, Angie, Danielle, Amy, Greg, Amber, John and Jeni; 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great- great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Betty Wood of England and Jean Ellison of England. She is also preceded by her husband, James O. Davis, daughter, Sylvia Ann "Sis" Poynter, grandson, Brian Poynter and great granddaughter, Aireka Adams.

Visitation for Sylvia will be 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Monday, August 1, 2016 at Jones Family Mortuary. Pastor Jack Elliott will officiate the celebration of life service at 12 p.m. Monday, August 1, 2016 at the funeral home. Sylvia will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
