Obituary for Stephen A. Alexander
Heaven became a little louder this week. Wednesday, December 23, 2015 Stephen A Alexander passed away, surrounded by family, after a brief battle with cancer. The man known for his booming voice and contagious laughter will be missed by all. Born in 1955 to Kenneth John and Martha R. (Harbolt) Alexander (later married to Bob "Mac" McCarty), Steve joined his older brothers and future fishing buddies, Robin Alexander (wife Maschelle Alexander) and Kenny Alexander Jr. (deceased 1998). Steve was also a superb older brother to sister Nancy Farr (husband Barry Farr).
Steve graduated from Danville in the class of 1974. He was also a member of Northview Christian Church in Danville, the Central Indiana Bassmasters of Plainfield, a Mixer driver for IMI for over 20 years, a thru and thru Packer Backer, a sucker for a good auction and the greatest husband, father and grandfather around. Steve and his wife Marcia (Rodney) Alexander shared a marriage spanning 38 love filled years.
Steve would probably try to say his true accomplishments in life were his sweet fishing skills and his ability to scope out morels, but we all know his true pride and joy were the children and grandchildren he shared with the world. Rodney and Ashley Alexander, Braysen 8, Brinley 4, and also expecting. Brian and Samantha Alexander, Layke 5 and Declyn 4. Stephanie and Tyler Shives, grand-dogs Zoe and Rascal. Steve also had countless beloved nieces, nephews and in-laws. The happiness and love that Steve bestowed on his friends and family can never be duplicated. We are all better for knowing him.
Family and friends may pay their respects Saturday, December 26, 2015 from 10am-1pm at Northview Christian Church in Danville, IN. Pastor Barry Farr will officiate the services at Northview Christian Church in Danville, IN on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at 1pm. Stephen will be laid to rest in Danville South Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the Alexander Grandchildren Benefit c/o Marcia Alexander, P.O. Box 115, Danville, IN 46122. Arrangements entrusted to Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville.
