Obituary for Ruth V. Sterrett

Ruth V. (Gibson) Sterrett, 80, of Mooresville died in her home on May 27, 2011. She was born in Greenwood, IN on April 4, 1931 to the late Samuel and Mary (Phillips) Gibson. She married Harlan "Bruce" Sterrett Sr. on December 19, 1953.

Ruth lived most of her life in Waverly and over 30 years in Mooresville. She worked at Automotive Armature in Mooresville for 7 years and previously at RCA in Indianapolis for 10 years where she was an assembly line worker. She also loved gardening.

She is survived by her husband; 1 son Harlan "Bruce" (Shar) Sterrett Jr. of Greenwood; 2 daughters: Rosemary D. (David) Allen of Florida and Jeanne (Danny) Camden of Paragon; 1 step daughter, Janice K. Huang of CA; 5 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; 3 brothers: Tommy Gibson of Indianapolis, Harry Gibson of Texas and Robert Gibson of Ellettsville, IN; 3 sisters: Vonnie Gibson of Indianapolis, Dessie Wallace of Indianapolis and Charlotte Bowman of Attica. She is preceded by 1 son, Mike Tibbs, 3 sisters and 4 brothers.

Visitation will be 4-8pm, Monday, May 30, 2011 at Jones Family Mortuary and 1 hour prior to the service. Funeral services will be 10am, Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Jones Family Mortuary with Carol Gibson officiating. She will be laid to rest in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
