Obituary for Robert E. Phillips

Robert E. Phillips, 82 years of age passed away Saturday, September 19, 2009. He was born March 21, 1927 in Bedford, IN to the late William E. and Clara (Foddrill) Phillips. Robert married the late Laura (Reed) Phillips on September 27, 1952.

He lived in Indianapolis, IN for 28 years and in West Newton, IN for 54 years. He was a Washington High School Graduate and was a Navy Veteran in the Korean War. Robert was a member of the West Newton United Methodist Church, West Newton Masonic Lodge #707, Scottish Rite, and Murat Shrine. Before he retired in 1990, he was a Varnish Maker for Lilly Industrial Coatings in Indianapolis, IN for 40 years.

Robert is survived by 2 Sons, Raymond Phillips of Indianapolis, IN and Robert Phillips of West Newton, IN; 1 Daughter, Gale Smith of Indianapolis, IN; 6 Grandchilden; and 5 Great Grandchildren.

Calling hours for Robert will be from 1-8pm, Wednesday, September 23, 2009 and fro 9-10am, Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, IN. There will also be a Masonic Service at 7:30pm, Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Jones Family Mortuary. The Funeral will be at 10am, Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Jones Family Mortuary. Doug Smith will officiate the service and Robert will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery.
