Obituary for Robert L. (Jazzy Bob) Hatchett

Robert L. "Jazzy Bob" Hatchett, 67, of Indianapolis passed away peacefully at his home in Indianapolis on Sunday, July 21, 2013. He was born on August 11, 1945 in Bartholomew County, IN to the late Clarence Hatchett and Irene (Lucas) Fields. Robert married Sharon (Sparks) Hatchett on February 17, 2012.

Robert lived most of his life in Indianapolis. He was an employee of Chrysler Corporation for 30 years before retiring in 1994. He was also a member of UAW #481 and honorary member of VFW. He also enjoyed building and customizing older cars.

Robert is survived by his wife, Sharon (Sparks) Hatchett of Indianapolis; 5 children: Phillip Britt, Aleta Hatchett - Hinkle, James Vanover, Roberta Hatchett and Joanna Coker; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; 1st wife, Shirley Hatchett; 2 brothers: Maynard and Dwight Hatchett and 2 sisters: Bernice Cseszko and Sue Meadows. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Sandra K. Hatchett and his parents.

Friends and family may gather 4-8pm, Tuesday, July 23, 2013 and from 12-1pm, Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Billy Gott will officiate the 1pm funeral service on July 24, 2013 at Jones Family Mortuary. Robert will be laid to rest at Fairfield Cemetery in Camby, IN.
