Obituary for Robert W. (Bob) Barney

Robert W. "Bob" Barney, 79, of Camby, went to be with the Lord with family by his side on Oct. 4, 2014. Bob was born to Willard A. and Cleo (Ellis) Barney on March 1, 1935 in Indianapolis. He was a 1953 Decatur Central High School Graduate. He served in the National Guard for 8 years. He married Janet (Nugent) Barney on Oct. 20, 1957.

Bob was a Salesman for various companies and Co-Owner of B & B Tool Rental and B & B Auto Sales. He was a member of Camby Community Church. He was a 50 year member of the West Newton Masonic Lodge #707. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite, Mooresville Chapter of the Eastern Star #260 and Kentucky Colonels. He has lived most of his life in Camby.

Bob is survived by his wife of nearly 57 years, Janet (Nugent) Barney of Camby; two daughters, Luann (Jeff) Rush of Greenwood and Diann (Robert) Porter of Lizton; five grandchildren: April, Kyla, Lloyd, Andrew and Krystal; two great grandchildren: Brooklynn and Raelynn and sister, Margaret "Peg" Palmer. Robert was also preceded by sister, Jean Wade.

Family and friends may gather from 3-8 p.m., Oct. 7, 2014 and 9-10 a.m., Oct. 8, 2014 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. There will be a 7:30 p.m Masonic Service on Oct. 7, 2014. Pastor Charles Paxton will officiate the 10 a.m. celebration of life service on Oct. 8, 2014 at Jones Family Mortuary. Bob will be laid to rest in West Newton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to The Indiana Make A Wish Foundation or Camby Community Church.
