Obituary for Richard E. Bowman

Richard E. "Mayer" Bowman, 81 years of age, of Mooresville, IN passed away Friday, March 21, 2008. He was born March 11, 1927 in Ashville, NC to the late Stephen O. Bowman and the late Rachel (Weddle) Bowman. He married Mary Lee (Stuart) Bowman on October 22, 1949.

Richard has lived in Mooresville, IN since 1959 and in Indianapolis, IN for most of his life. He was a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School and also was a Sgt. in the Army. He was a Founding member of the Mooresville Fraternal Order of the Eagles #3988, Martinsville BPOE Lodge #1349, the Mooresville American Legion #103, and also a Founding member of the Eagle Pines Golf Club. Richard was Vice President and Sales Manager of Automotive Armature Company in Mooresville, IN for 42 years and retired in 1991.

Richard is survived by his Wife, Mary Lee (Stuart) Bowman of Mooresville, IN; 2 Children, Michael Stuart Bowman of Baton Rouge, LA and Julie Busbee of Mooresville, IN; 5 Grandchildren;and 8 Great Grandchildren. He is also preceded in death by 1 Son, David C. Bowman; and 1 Brother, John O. Bowman.

Celebrate Richard's life with family and friends from 6-8pm, Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at Jones Family Mortuary. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and/or to the American Heart Association.
