Obituary for Ralph W. Grounds Jr.

Ralph W. "Doc" Grounds Jr., 75, of Mooresville died Wednesday, November 10, 2004. He was born November 17, 1928 to parents Ralph Grounds and Flossie (Murphy) Grounds. He was a 1946 graduate of Paragon High School. He married Martha Lou Bunton November 14, 1948. He was a member of the Mooresville Masonic Lodge #78, Morgan County Sheep Breeders Association, Indiana Suffolk Sheep Association, and a supporter of Morgan County 4-H. He has been a Self Employed Farmer for most of his life. From 1970-2003, he was an independent Owner-Operator of Grounds Marathon.

He is survived by Spouse: Martha Lou (Bunton) Grounds of Mooresville, IN; 3 Children: James R. Grounds of Mooresville, IN; Sherry Lynn Lange of Martinsville, IN; David Michael Grounds of Mooresville, IN; 5 Grandchildren: Lorie Blythe, Justin and Ashley Grounds, Erika and Hannah Lange; 1 Great Grandson: Jacob Blythe; 1 Brother: Gerald Grounds; 5 Sisters: Betty McCown, Martha Moore, Marian Stierwalt, Nellie Howard, and Sharon Partyka; He was preceded in death by 5 sisters.

Visitation will be 2-8pm Friday, November 12, 2004 at Jones Family Mortuary with a Masonic Memorial Service starting at 7:15pm. Funeral Services will begin at 10am Saturday, November 13, 2004 and will be officiated by Bill VanHorn. He will be laid to rest at Olive Cemetery in Paragon, IN. Memorial Contributions can be made to Morgan County Sheep Breeders Association or the Morgan County 4-H.
