Obituary for Opal M. Phillips Miller

Opal M. Phillips Miller, 83 years of age passed away Thursday, October 8, 2009. She was born August 6, 2009 in Deer Lodge, TN to the late Vestal V. and Lillie (Branstetter) Phillips. Opal married the late Henry Miller on December 5, 1972.

She lived in Nashville, IN for 15 years, Indianapolis, IN for 40 years, and in Deer Lodge, TN for 3 years. She was a 1944 Decatur Central High School Graduate and loved gardening and antiquing. Before retiring in 1972, she was a secretary for Eli Lilly in Indianapolis, IN for 25 years.

Opal is survived by 1 Brother, Jesse H. (Shirley) Phillips of Mooresville, IN; 1 Sister, Joyce Phillips Leapley of Plainfield, IN; and 7 Nieces and Nephews. She is also preceded in death by 1 Brother, Clyde Phillips.

Calling hours for Opal will be from 12noon-1pm, Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Jones Crossing Banquet Center, next door to Jones Family Mortuary. The Funeral will be at 1pm, Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Jones Crossing Banquet Center. Rev. Dr. Mary Rudy will officiate the service and Opal will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery.
