She played basketball and was a four year cheerleader. She attended state teachers college in Buffalo, New York for 2 years and then finished her degree at Indiana University. As a young girl, she was active in the Methodist Church serving as a sunday school teacher, choir member, and the National Methodist Youth. She served as Sub District and District Offices. In 1940, she was a delegate from Onenata District to the National Youth Convocation in Indiana. In 1944, she was the Wyoming Conference Delegate to the National Methodist Youth Convocation in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. After her marriage, she served in many offices in Methodist Women's Association. She was a charter member of Bada Thada Chapter of Alpha Epsilon State of Delta Kappa Gama. She served as president as well as committee work in local and state level. She remained a member of this orginization until her death. She met Robert Clipp in 1944 and they married May 5, 1946. They lived in Indiana where she began substitute teaching and started full time teaching in 1957 and until 1977. They moved from Campbellsburg,IN to Mooresville, IN in 1959 where they lived until moving to Leesburg, Fl in 1994.

They were married 51 years and 2 Children were born from this union, Alice Diane and Robert Dean II. She was preceded in death by her Huband, Robert, 1998; her son Dean, 1996; her 1 Brother, Everett Sampson in 2002; and 1 Sister, Emily Harrison in 1999; 2 Granddaughters preceded in death, Robin and Rebecca Fulp. She is survived by her Daughter, Diane Spencer (Robert) Valrico, FL; Grandchildren: Robert Dean Clipp III (Kate) Indianapolis, IN, Shannon Kincaid (Yale) Battle Creek, Michigan, Scott Fulp (Karen) from Yelm, Washington; and 4 Great Great Granchildren. Her greatest pleasures in life were her family, her church, and her many friends.

She likes this philosphy: Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving, safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather skid in broadside- throughouly used up, totally worn out, and pronouncing, "Wow what a ride!"

Calling hours will be from 5-8pm, Thursday, July 9, 2009 and 1 hour prior to service on Friday. The funeral will be at 11am, Friday, July 10, 2009 at Jones Family Mortuary with Terry Crist to officiate. She will be laid to rest at White Lick Cemetery.
