Obituary for Norman Lee Jones

Norman Lee Jones, 73, Mooresville, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Friday, December 26, 2014. Norman was born on November 7, 1941 in Burkesville, KY to the late James W. and Julia E. (Groce) Jones. Norman married Doris A. (Weston) Jones on August 12, 1961.

Norman served in the Army during Vietnam. Norman lived most of his life in the Mooresville/Plainfield area. He was currently member and Pastor at Free Spirit Baptist Church in Indianapolis and previously an electrician for Carrier Corp, formerly Bryant Heating and Cooling, for 45 years. He loved all kinds of hunting and enjoyed water skiing.

Norman is survived by his wife, Doris A. (Weston) Jones; 2 daughters: Lori A. (Todd) Byrd-Trinkle of Mooresville and Lisa M. (Eden) Dorsett of Mooresville; 3 grandchildren: Emily Byrd, Katie Byrd and Shelby Dorsett and sister, Mable Leinweber of Mooresville. He is also preceded in death by his brother, J.D. Jones.

Visitation will be 1-3pm, Monday, December 29, 2014 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Rev. Ronnie Smith will officiate the 3pm funeral on Monday, December 29, 2014. Norman will be laid to rest in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
