Obituary for Myrtle M. Mangus

Myrtle M. Mangus, 67, of Martinsville, IN, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2013. Myrtle was born to Hilton Harlan Hoopengarner and Lucille Calhoon on September 8, 1945 in Indianapolis, IN. Myrtle married Robert Mangus on September 1, 1989.

Myrtle retired from Indiana Bell in 1993 as a Trouble Desk Dispatcher, where she worked for 30 years. She enjoyed going to yard sales, sewing, crocheting and cross stitching. She has lived most of her life in the Mooresville and Martinsville area.

Myrtle is survived by her husband of nearly 24 years, Robert Mangus of Martinsville, IN; a daughter, Suzanne (Tyler) Tebbe of Indianapolis, IN; a grandson, Tyler Devan of Indianapolis, IN; two step sons, Robert Mangus Jr. of Martinsville, IN and Doug Mangus of SC; several step grandchildren; three sisters, Maryellen Morrison of Indianapolis, IN, Juanita Kay Sevier of Indianapolis, IN and Ruby Jean Hoopengarner of FL; two brothers, Harold Hoopengarner of Eminence, IN and Harlan "JT" Hoopengarner Jr. of Martinsville, IN. Myrtle is preceded in death by her parents, Harlan Hoopengarner and Lucille Calhoun; a son, Michael McBride; a daughter, Theresa McBride; a previous spouse, Joseph Jones and another previous spouse and father to Suzanne, Robert Lee McBride.

Family and friends may attend calling hours from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2013 and from 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, IN. Tom Tackett will officiate the 11 a.m. celebration of life service on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Jones Family Mortuary. Myrtle will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
