Obituary for Michael D. Ashburn

Michael D. Ashburn passed away on January 23, 2016. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and shortly after birth his family moved to Mooresville, Indiana.

He was raised in Mooresville and attended Neil Armstrong Elementary, followed by junior high and high school graduating in 2005 from MHS. Michael enjoyed sports throughout his childhood and excelled at them. Following in his fathers footsteps his favorite was basketball, and Michael had an exceptional ability to dunk a basketball doing so in many high school games. He also enjoyed playing computer games, and computer programming which led him to attend Purdue University for 2 years. Michael was very helpful to others with electronics and was the go to person in our family to help with technological problems. Some other hobbies included tennis, fishing, and watching movies. Michael's smile was infectious and his heart was full of love for all he touched. He will be greatly missed.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte Johnson Ashburn, and his grandparents Charlene and J.L. Ashburn. He is survived by his father, David; brothers: Bradley and Branden; grandparents: Carl Johnson and Donna Littlejohn and his niece Zola.

In memory of Michael there will be a memorial gathering held by Jones Family Mortuary at Jones Crossing Banquet and Event Center, 4161 East Allison Rd. Mooresville, IN 46158 on Monday, February 1, 2016 from 5-8pm. There will also be a celebration of life service at 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Salvation Army.

Michael's memory will forever be in our hearts and may he have the peace he deserved. We love and will miss you Michael....
