Mary L.  Gilbert (Glenn)
Mary L. (Glenn) Gilbert, 88, of Mooresville, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2018 with her loving family by her side. She was born on June 28, 1929 to Bishop A. Glenn and Stella M. (Lambdin) Jones in Sebree, KY.

Mary was a homemaker and proud military wife who followed her husband, Command Sergeant Major John R. Gilbert, around the world for 22 years while he served our country proudly during the Vietnam and Korean wars. She was a former member of Decatur Township and Morgan County Democratic Party and a proud 4-H supporter in both Decatur Township and Morgan County. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, gardening, fishing and especially loved her family. She was a long time resident of Decatur Township and Morgan County.

Mary is survived by four loving children, Roberta (James) Sharp of Mooresville, Bryan David (Ann) Gilbert of Mooresville, Pamela Rogers of Spencer and John R. (Tonya) Gilbert II of Mooresville; three grandchildren, Melissa (Chris) Clements, Tori Gilbert and Brittnee Gilbert; a great-grandson, Caleb Clements; two sisters, Kathryn Sisk of Evansville and Mary Alice; three brothers, Jimmy, Clarence and Bishop Jr. Mary is preceded in death by her parents; husband, CSM John R. Gilbert; and stepfather, Vernie D. Jones.

Pastor Eric Ebb will officiate Mary's celebration of life service at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018 in Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville, with calling hours starting at 10:30 a.m. Mary will be laid to rest in West Newton Cemetery.
