Obituary for Marvin L. Barrett

Marvin L. Barrett, 72, of Coatesville, IN, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2013. Marvin was born to Loren and Emma (Casper) Barrett on December 1, 1941 in Indianapolis, IN. Marvin was a Veteran of the Air Force. Marvin married Arlene (Lindroth) Barrett on June 7, 1969.

Marvin was a Utility Lineman for the Local Union for 41 years, retiring in 2009. He was a member of Clayton Christian Church and IBEW Local #769 in Phoenix, AZ. He was a cowboy who loved horses, helping people and was a workaholic. He has lived in Indiana and Arizona for most of life.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 44 years, Arlene Barrett of Coatesville, IN; five children, Jodi (Brian) Wilder of AZ, Tim (Kim) Barrett of Mooresville, IN, Melynda (Shawn) Miller of Heritage Lake, IN; Patty (Chuck) Seymour of Clayton and IN, Vicki (Scott) Hawkins of Clayton, IN; 14 grandchildren; a brother, Phil Barrett of Nashville, IN and a sister, Dee Dee McClain of Plainfield. Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Emma (Casper) Barrett.

Family and friends may attend calling hours from 4-8 p.m., Friday, December 20, 2013 and 9-10 a.m., Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, IN. Pastor Gary Black will officiate the 10 a.m. celebration of life service on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Jones Family Mortuary. Marvin will be laid to rest in Clayton Cemetery.
