Obituary for Marion L. Gaston

Marion L. Gaston, 80, of Camby, passed away on December 18, 2011 at Meadow Lakes in Mooresville. Marion was born on July 20, 1931 in Chrisney, IN to Robert and Marie (Pope) Gaston. Marion married Norma Barnett Gaston on August 12, 1962.

Marion lived in Camby since 1965 and previously in Chrisney, IN for 18 years. He was a 1954 graduate of The University of Evansville and he was also a 1957 graduate of Garrett Seminary at Northwestern University. Marion was a Teacher and Basketball Coach at Garden City Elementary in Wayne Twp Schools for 30 years before retiring in 1994. He had also served churches in Chandler and Advance, IN. He was a member of Bloomfield Wesley Chapel in Chrisney, IN and Mt. Olive United Methodist Church in Indianapolis. Marion was also Past President of Decatur Central Lions Club.

Marion is survived by his wife; 2 sons: Andrew Barnett Gaston of Indianapolis and Matthew Mahan Gaston of Camby; 4 grandchildren: Ruth, Elsa, Ben and Emma Gaston and 1 sister, Sylvia Dolletski.

Visitation will be 3-8pm, Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Jones Crossing Banquet Center,next to Jones Family Mortuary and 10-11am, Thursday, December 22, 2011. Funeral Services will be 11am, Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Jones Crossing Banquet Center with Bill Clayton officiating. Marion will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery.
