Obituary for Margaret Elizabeth Harrington

Margaret Elizabeth Harrington, 95, of Santee, CA, died on April 15, 2012. Margaret was born to Chester Stout & Corda (McKinley) Ross on January 9, 1917 in West Newton, IN. Margaret graduated from Decatur Central High School in 1935 & went on to complete her Bachelors Degree from Danville College & her Masters Degree from Purdue University. Margaret was widowed from Earl Harrington in 1978 and Robert Morton Smith in 1952.

Margaret was a Remedial Reading Teacher for Decatur Township Schools for 23 years. Margaret also taught school in Lansing, IL for 17 years. Margaret has lived most of her life in West Newton, IN. Margaret is a life long member of Valley Mills Friends Church. Margaret loved to knit,crochet & cook.

Margaret is survived by her son, Tony (Revee) Smith of Louisville, KY; granddaughter, Nina (Don) Alderson of Santee, CA & a great granddaughter, Dionna Smith. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, Chester Stout & Corda (McKinley) Ross; spouses, Earl Harrington & Robert Morton Smith; daughter, Sandra Smith & sister, Mildred Park.

Charles Bunner will officiate the 1pm graveside service on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at West Newton Cemetery.
