Obituary for Madonna E. Clayton

Madonna E. Clayton, 85 of Mooresville, IN passed away Saturday, July 5, 2008. She was bornJune 12, 1923 in Dieterich, ILL to the late Edgar Lustig and the late Viola (Steppe) Lustig. She married Thomas E. Clayton of Mooresville , IN on February 15, 1947.

Madonna has lived in Mooresville, IN for 10 years, Dieterich, ILL for 18 years, Indianapolis, IN for 35 years, and N. Myrtle Beach, SC for 17 years. She was a 1941 Graduate of Dieterich, ILL High School and was a member of the St. Thomas More Catholic Church. She was a clerk for 15 years at Wm.H. Block Department Store in Indianapolis, IN before she retired in 1980. Previously, she worked as a Hairdresser for several years. Madonna was an avid reader, loved to play golf her entire life and enjoyed gardening.

Madonna is survived by her Husband, Thomas E. Clayton of Mooresville, IN; 1 Son, Robert (Becky) Clayton of Sheridan, IN; 2 Daughters, Patricia (Robert) Johnson of Indianapolis, IN and Connie (Steve) Sherwood of New Palestine, IN; 5 Grandchildren: Eric, Trey and Abby Clayton, Keith and Kelsie Sherwood; 4 Sisters: Carol Richardson, Jeanne Collignon, Lillian Croft, and Marilyn Polakovic; and 3 Brothers: Gerald, Brian and Norbert Lustig. She is also preceded in death by 2 Brothers, Wendall and Charles Lustig.

Calling hours for Madonna will be from 10am-11am, Tuesday, July 8, 2008 with the funeral beginning at 11am, Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at Jones Family Mortuary. Fr. Mark Gottemoeller will officiate the service and Madonna will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery.
