Obituary for Mabel M. (Nelson) Chastain Godsey

Mabel M. Nelson Chastain Godsey 79, Mooresville, formerly of Indianapolis and Jeffersonville, died Friday, March 4, 2005. She was born February 14, 1926 in Borden, IN to William H. and Priscilla (Miller) Nelson. Before retiring in 1992, she was an engraver for Shirley Brothers Engraving Company in Indianapolis for 20 years. Mrs. Godsey was a 1944 graduate of Rockport High School and member of Church of Christ, Martinsville.

Survivors include husband Hoover E. Godsey, Mooresville; children Roger W. Chastain, Campbellsburg, Rosemarie Clark, Mooresville; step-children Hurstal Godsey, Franklin, Phyllis Goss, Danville; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by parents and son William B. Chastain.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2005 in Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville, with calling there from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2005 and one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.
