Obituary for Lyndon K. Smith

Lyndon K. Smith, 76 years of age passed away Monday, March 15, 2010. He was born August 15, 1933 in Sault Ste. Marie, MI to the late Frank and Frances (Waddell) Smith. Lyndon was previously married to the late Patricia L. Smith. Lyndon currently was married to Gail (Roby) Smith of Mooresville, IN and they married on June 25, 2005.

Lyndon was a Mooresville, IN resident for 53 years. He was a Veteran in active duty for the Army National Guard of the Korean War and was discharged in 1952. He served in the National Guard for 42 years. He was a member of the Valley Mills Christian Church; Past Chaplain of Funeral Services; Life-time member of the Mooresville VFW Post 1111; Past Master and Secretary of the Mooresville Masonic Lodge #78; Past Master and Secretary of Bartimaeus Masonic Lodge UD, Indiana; Past Master of William Hacker Masonic Lodge #759, Shelbyville, IN; Past High Priest of Westside Royal Arch Masons Chapter #138, Indianapolis, IN; Past Grand Chaplain of Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons of Indiana; Past Illustrious Master of Forrest A. Wakeman Council #110am, Mooresville, IN; Past Commander of William G. Bray Commandry #65KT, Mooresville, IN; Past Patron of the Mooresville Order of the Eastern Star #260; Past Associate Guardian of Bethel 35 International Order of Job's Daughters (IOJD), Mooresville, IN; Member of the Terre Haute Valley Scottish Rite; Holds Order of Purple Cross as a 33rd Degree Mason for Sovereign York Rite College; Past Grand Lecturer Emeritus of the Grand Council of Cryptic Masons; Member of the IOOF Martinsville #274. Lyndon was a SGM for the Army National Guard in Indiana and Michigan for 35 years, retiring in 1989.

Lyndon is survived by his Wife, Gail Smith of Mooresville, IN; 6 Children: Donna Sturm of Mooresville, IN, David Smith of Kentucky, Karl Smith of Mooresville, IN, Karen Smith of Mooresville, IN, Joyce Fluke of Texas, and Billy Smith of Mooresville, IN; Several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great Great Grandchildren; and 1 Sister, Ethel Blakey of Washington and 2 Step Children, Robin Tyron and David Blankenship of Indianapolis, IN. He was also preceded in death by 2 Sisters, 3 Brothers, and 1 Step Son, John Foster.

There will be calling hours for Lyndon on Friday, March 19, 2010 from 2-9pm and from 11-12noon, Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Jones Crossing Banquet Center(right next to Jones Family Mortuary). The funeral will be at 12noon, Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Jones Crossing Banquet Center (right next to Jones Family Mortuary) with Tom Richey and Brian Sturm to officiate. There will also be a 8pm, Masonic Memorial Service and an 8:30pm Odd Fellows Memorial Service on Friday, March 19, 2010 at Jones Crossing Banquet Center (right next to Jones Family Mortuary), Mooresville, IN. Lyndon will be laid to rest at White Lick Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Knights Templar Eye Foundation, 1000 East State Parkway, Suite I, Schaumburg, IL 60173.
