Obituary for Lonnie L. Pennington

Lonnie L. Pennington, 76, of Camby, IN, died on June 14, 2011. Lonnie was born to Sherman & Ruby (Robbins) Pennington on March 24, 1935 in Pennington Gap, VA. He married Mary E. (Galloway) Pennington on October 16, 1958.

Before retiring in 2002, he was a Laborer for Vans Carburator in Indianapolis, IN for 20 years. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Charity Tabernacle in Indianapolis and loved fishing and hunting. He has lived in Camby, IN for the past 52 years and his birthplace of Pennington Gap, VA for 24 years.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 53 years, Mary E. (Galloway) Pennington of Camby, IN; 4 children, Donna Petty of Camby, IN, Diana Blakley of TN, Doris Clampitt of Camby, IN and Keith Pennington of Camby, IN; 3 grandchildren, Nicole & Keith Clampitt and Brandie Dulworth; 3 great grandchildren, Austin, Darci and Kaylee; 3 brothers, Kenneth, Roger and Ronald Pennington.

Lonnie is preceded in death by his parents, Sherman & Ruby (Robbins) Pennington.

Calling hours will be from 4-8pm, Thursday, June 16, 2011 and 12-1pm, Friday, June 17, 2011 at Jones Family Mortuary. David Gibson will officiate the 1pm funeral service on Friday, June 17, 2011 at Jones Family Mortuary. Lonnie will be laid to rest in White Lick Cemetery.
