Obituary for Leon (McCracken) Lewis

Leon McCracken Lewis, 94, died January 27, 2005. She was born October 16, 1910 to the late Benjamin McCracken and Minnie (Cain) McCracken. She was a 1928 Graduate of Martinsville High School. She also studied music at Jordan Conservatory. She was a member at Monrovia Christian Church. She married the late Dalbert Lewis June 19, 1938. From the young age of 15-90, she was a Private Piano Teacher and also played the organ at church and at Harvey's Funeral Home(which became Cook Funeral Home and later Jones Family Mortuary).

She is survived by Daughter: Sharlyn (Lewis) and Robert Barron of VA; Son: Lee and Mattie Coffman of FL; 5 Grandchildren; Michelle Barron of OH; Joshua and Ruth Barron of TN; Dwight and Cathy Coffman of Bloomington, IN; Debra and Donnie McCarty of Terre Haute, IN; Mark and Janie Coffman of Ellettsville, IN; 5 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren; 2 Foster Grandchildren: David Eugene Webb and P.J. Webb. She was preceded in death by 2 Foster Sons: Richard Webb and David Webb.

Visitation will be 4-8pm January 31, 2005 at Jones Family Mortuary. Funeral will be at 11am February 1, 2005 at Monrovia Christian Church. She will be laid to rest at Center Valley Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to Monrovia Christian Church or Hazelwood Christian Church.
