Obituary for Lebert Ray

Lebert Ray, 84, of Indianapolis, IN, died on February 12, 2011. He was born on January 31, 1927 in Greene County, IN to George & Anna (Hayden) Ray. He married Joyce (Eisenmenger) Ray on March 23, 1952.

Before retiring in 1992, he was a Machine Operator for Detroit Diesel, a division of Allison's in Indianapolis, IN for 17 years. He also worked as a Carpenter for the Carpenter's Union, Local #60 for 20 years. He also worked as a Carpenter for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for 13 years. He was a Army World War II Veteran. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. He loved fixing things and woodworking. He has lived in Indianapolis, IN for 54 years and Greene County, IN for 30 years.

He is is survived by his wife, Joyce (Eisenmenger)Ray; 1 Son, Larry D. (Donna) Ray of Plainfield, IN; 1 Granddaughter: Cathi (Shawn) Horning of Indianapolis, IN; 2 Great Grandsons, Brennan & Eli Horning; and 2 Brothers, Albert & Luther Ray of Indianapolis, IN.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, George & Anna (Hayden) Ray and 1 Son, Terry Alan Ray.

Calling hours is from 3-8pm, Tuesday, February 15, 2011 and 10-11am, Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Jones Crossing Banquet Center, next door to Jones Family Mortuary. Ben Biggs will officiate the 11am funeral service on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Jones Crossing Banquet Center. Burial will be in West Newton Cemetery.
