Obituary for L. Joyce Hargis

L. Joyce Hargis, 68, of Waverly, died on Sunday, December 27,2009. She was born on November 4, 1941 in London, KY to the late James and Lilly (Arthur) Rogers. She married J.L. Hargis on December 24, 1959 and he survives.

She was a member of Waverly Baptist Church. Before retiring in 1998, she worked in Quality Control in Human Insulin Department for Eli Lilly in Indianapolis, IN for 35 years.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, J.L. Hargis of Martinsville; 2 children, Beverly (John) Hutslar of Greenwood; Michael Hargis of Indianapolis; 2 grandsons, Adam & Darren Hutslar of Greenwood,IN; 2 brothers, Cecil & Lenvil Rogers of London, KY; 1 sister, Shirley Turner of London, KY. She is also preceded in death by 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

Calling hours will be from 4-8pm, Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Jones Family Mortuary and from 9-10am, Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Waverly Baptist Church. The funeral will be at 10am, Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at the Waverly Baptist Church in Waverly, IN (7225 old St. Rd. 37N. Martinsville, IN 46151)with David Ball and Earl Chestnut to officiate. She will be laid to rest at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Waverly, IN.
