Obituary for Joseph S. Reynolds

Joseph S. Reynolds, 85, of Mooresville died on August 29, 2011 in Methodist Hospital. Joseph was born on December 21, 1925 in Camby, IN. He married Margaret (Barnett) Reynolds on October 20, 1945.

Joseph lived most of his life in Camby and 9 years in Mooresville. He was a 1944 graduate of Decatur Central High School where he was president of his class and also attended Purdue University for 1 semester. He was a lifetime farmer, worked as a Feed Salesman for Burrough's and Parr for 10 years, A & E Staley Feed Company in Illinois for 5 years, salesman for Prudential Life Insurance Company in Indianapolis for 2 years, Dredge Operator for Martin Marrietta in Indianapolis and Paul Hadley Middle School for 10 years. He was also Former President and coach of the Decatur Township Basketball League. He was a member of West Newton Friends Church, West Newton Masonic Lodge #707, West Newton Cemetery Board, President of Marion County Swine Breeders Association and Decatur Central High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He was also a former Decatur Township School Board Member and helped establish M.S.D. of Decatur Township. He was also a former Marion County Fair Board Member.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Reynolds of Mooresville, 5 children: Connie (Will) Schakel of Knightstown, Donna (Rex) Cook of Camby, Jacque (Jim) Baker of Mooresville, Pam (Jerry) Stephens of Cleveland, Ohio and Mike Reynolds of Camby; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is preceded by his mother, Edna (Reynolds)Price.

Visitation will be 4-8pm, Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville with a Masonic Service at 7:30pm. Funeral services will be at 10am, Friday, September 2, 2011 also at Jones Family Mortuary with Charles Paxton officiating. He will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
