Obituary for Joseph A. Coughlan

Joseph A. Coughlan, 59, of Martinsville, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2015. He was born to Joseph B. & Madonna R. (Pounds) Coughlan on April 15, 1956 in Indianapolis. He married Beverly D. (Harris) Coughlan on April 8, 1978.

Joseph worked as a Process Engineer for Eli Lilly for 35 years, retiring in 2013. He was an avid music collector and enjoyed officiating little league football. He lived in Martinsville for 24 years and his birthplace of Indianapolis for 35 years.

Joseph is survived by two sons, Joseph D. (Krystal) Coughlan of Martinsville, Patrick C. Coughlan of Mooresville; three grandchildren, Andrew, Anthony and Alibell Coughlan; a brother, Jimmy Coughlan of Martinsville; three sisters, Sue Hawkins of Beanblossom; Theresa Leggins of Indianapolis and Patty Miller of Indianapolis. Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph B. and Madonna R. Coughlan; wife, Beverly D. Coughlan; and a brother, David Coughlan.

Family and friends may gather from 2-3 p.m., Friday, July 3, 2015 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Billy Gott will officiate the 3 p.m. celebration of life service at Jones Family Mortuary. Joseph will be laid to rest in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Martinsville.
