Obituary for Jerry E. Hibler

Jerry E. Hibler, 72 years of age passed away Sunday, January 3, 2010. He was born November 30, 1937 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Lewis R. and Kathrine (Jones) Hibler. Jerry married Mary Ann (Edwards) Hibler of West Newton, IN on August 16, 1958.

He lived in the West Newton/Indianapolis area for all of his life. He was a 1956 Decatur Central High School Graduate and also attended Butler University for 1 year. He was a member of the Center United Methodist Church, West Newton Masonic Lodge #707, Scottish Rite Indianapolis Valley, and Past President of Decatur Township Civic Council. He also Square Danced with several clubs and with his wife were publicity Chairman for the 35th National Square Dance Convention in Indianapolis, IN and coached little league basketball in Decatur Township for many years. Jerry was a Regional Salesman for DONSCO INC, for 16 years and retired in 2000. Previously, he was a Salesman for Link Belt Belmont Plant for 24 years. He was also a Co Owner of Hilltop Farms Excavating in West Newton, IN for 21 years. He also loved wood crafts.

He is survived by his Wife, Mary Ann Hibler of West Newton, IN; 3 Sons, Steven L. (Deborah) Hibler of Camby, IN, Scott E. (Shannon) Hibler of Greenwood, IN, and Gregory A. (Michelle) Hibler of West Newton, IN; 13 Grandchildren; and 1 Sister, Sue (Hibler)Smith of Indianapolis, IN. He is also survived by his Lab Rudy.

Calling hours for Jerry will be from 3-8pm, Friday, January 8, 2010 at Jones Crossing Banquet Center (right next to Jones Family Mortuary) and from 9-11am, Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Center United Methodist Church, 5445 South Bluff Road, Indianapolis, IN 46217. There will be a Masonic Service at 7:30pm, Friday, January 8, 2010 at Jones Crossing Banquet and Event Center. The Funeral will be at 11am, Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Center United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, IN. Jones Family Mortuary handled the arrangements. Daniel Rasmussen will officiate the service and Jerry will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery in West Newton, IN. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Center United Methodist Church, 5445 South Bluff Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46217.
