Obituary for Hubert L. Crouse

Hubert L. Crouse, 87, Mooresville, passed away peacefully on Jan. 13, 2014. Hubert was born to Alva & Gladys L. (Light) Crouse on July 4, 1926 in Clay City. Hubert was a World War II Army Veteran and Bronze Star recipient. Hubert married Norma J. (Bowersock) Crouse on Aug. 27, 1947.

Hubert was a employed by Link Belt Belmont Plant for 30 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Worthington, Morgan County Cattleman's Association, Plainfield Masonic Lodge and Mooresville VFW Post 1111. He has lived in Mooresville for most of his life, Worthington for 9 years and Clay City for 21 years.

Hubert is survived by his wife of 66 years, Norma Crouse of Mooresville; two daughters, Angela (Don) Sweeney of Greenwood and Becky (James) Carlisle of Martinsville; four grandchildren, Marta Crocker, Kristie Sweeney, Scott Carlisle & A.J. Sweeney; five great grandchildren and two brothers, Don E. Crouse of Columbus and Carl of Gosport. Hubert is preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.

Family & friends may attend calling hours from 4-8 p.m., Thurs., Jan. 16, 2014 and 10-11 a.m., Fri., Jan. 16, 2014 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Terry Crist will officiate the 11 a.m. celebration of life service on Fri., Jan. 17, 2014 at Jones Family Mortuary. Hubert will be laid to rest in Nebo Memorial Park, Martinsville.
