Obituary for Gerald (Jerry) D. Lashbrook

Gerald "Jerry" D. Lashbrook, 61 years of age passed away Saturday, April 4, 2009. He was born June 1, 1947 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Edward Dale and Donna Mae (Iden) Lashbrook. Jerry married Brenda (Davis) Lashbrook of Martinsville, IN.

He lived in Martinsville, IN for 15 years and in Indianapolis, IN for most of his life. Jerry was a Ben Davis High School Graduate and served in the Navy Reserves. He was a member of the Friends of Bill W., Member and past President of Bridgeport Volunteer Fire Department, avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman, Purdue Boilermaker fan and flew hanggliders and competed in U.S. Hangglider Championships. Before retiring in 2003, he was a Pipe Fitter for Allison's Transmission in Indianapolis, IN for 23 years. Previously, he owned and operated Benbrook Plumbing on the Westside of Indianapolis, IN during the 70's.

Jerry is survived by his Wife, Brenda (Davis) Lashbrook of Martinsville, IN; 4 Children: David Gerald Lashbrook of Indianapolis, IN, Heather Leann Lashbrook of Indianapolis, IN, Wayne Ray Howerton of Clarksville, IN, and Christopher Shawn Howerton of Georgetown, IN; 6 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild on the way; 2 Sisters, Cheryl (Ken) Rosenfeld of Mooresville, IN and Therese (Michael) Sommers of Clayton, IN.

Calling hours for Jerry will be from 4-8pm, Tuesday, April 7, 2009 and from 11-12noon, Wednesday, April 8, 2009 all at Jones Crossing Banquet Center, right next door to Jones Family Mortuary. The funeral will be at 12noon, Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Jones Crossing Banquet Center. Dennis Payton will officiate the service and Jerry will be laid to rest at Moores Ridge Cemetery in French Lick, IN with the burial to be at a later date. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Friends of Bill W., 136 E. Market St, Suite 1030, Indianapolis, IN 46204, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Indiana Chapter, 941 East 86th St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240-1842 or charity of choice. There will be a dinner immediately following services at the First United Methodist Church, 900 Indianapolis Road, Mooresville, IN 46158. Meat, drinks and table service provided. Please bring covered dish to share. Jones Family Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
