Obituary for Gary Baker
Gary Baker, 61, of Mooresville, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2016 with family by his side. Gary was born to James and Vella (Cooper) Baker on July 23, 1955 in Crossville, TN. Gary was in the Decatur Central High School Class of 1974.
Gary worked as a Boiler Room Operator for Vertellus in Indianapolis for 38 years, retiring in 2011. He was a season ticket holder and big Colts fan. He loved helping all people, especially his friends and family. He lived in Mooresville for the past 10 years and lived most of his life in Indianapolis.
Gary is survived by a daughter, Melanie (Jason Murray) Tinsley of Mooresville; a son, Jimmy Baker of Indianapolis; two granddaughters, Taylor Tinsley of Indianapolis, Haley Tinsley of Clayton; a sister, Carol Powell of Indianapolis; and a brother, Timmie Baker of Martinsville. Gary is preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends may gather for calling from 1-3 p.m. on Monday, December 19, 2016 in Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Billy Gott will officiate Gary's celebration of life service at 3 p.m on Monday, December 19, 2016 in Jones Family Mortuary.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Gary Baker family fund with a request that checks be made out to Melanie Tinsley.
