Obituary for Garland A. Ratliff

Garland A. Ratliff, 79 years of age passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2010. He was born January 1, 1931 in Walnut Ridge, AR to the late Carrie and Rachel (Pace) Ratliff. Garland married Joan (Stokes) Ratliff on February 9, 1952.

He lived in Camby, IN for most of his life and attended New Beginnings Assembly of God in Indianapolis, IN. He was deeply devoted to his wife, and family. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, coon hunting, baseball, and especially the St. Louis Cardinals. His most valued time was spent with his family. Garland worked as a Millwright and Supervisor for Bridgeport Brass Corporation for 43 years.

He is survived by his Wife, Joan Ratliff of Camby, IN; 2 Daughters, Diana (Larry) Riley of Indianapolis, IN and Debbie (Steve) Keller of Plainfield, IN; 2 Sons, Tim (Gloria) Ratliff of Plainfield, IN and Rodney (Tami) Ratliff of Plainfield, IN; 9 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; 2 Brothers, Kenneth (Doc) and Truel Ratliff; and 4 Sisters: Imo Mason, Margie Ratliff, Jolene Munns, and Jeannie Davis. He is also preceded in death by Brother, Charles Ratliff and Sister, Dorothy Nunnally.

Calling hours for Garland Ratliff will be from 2-7pm, Sunday, March 28, 2010 and from 11 am - 1pm, Monday, March 29, 2010 all at Jones Crossing Banquet Center (next to Jones Family Mortuary). The Funeral will be at 1pm, Monday, March 29, 2010 at Jones Crossing Banquet Center. Jim Palmer and Jeff Carlson will be officiating the service and Garland will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Lung Association. Arrangements were handled by Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, IN.
