Obituary for Frances L. Edson

Frances L. Edson, 95, Mooresville, died July 17, 2008. She was born on June 10, 1913 to the late Benjamin Harrison and Flora Alice (Hinshaw) Hobson in Monrovia, IN. She married the late Oscar Roger Edson on August 12, 1939. She was a 1931 Monrovia High School Graduate and attended Sanderson Business College in Indianapolis, IN for 1 year. She was a Clerk for the U.S. Department of Agriculture "AAA" for 12 years in Martinsville, IN and then worked for the Morgan County Auditor and Recorders office in Martinsville, IN for 12 years. She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church, Sigma Beta Sorority in Brooklyn, IN and a Past Worthy Matron and 50 year member of the Brooklyn/Mooresville Order of the Eastern Star #292. She has lived most of her life in the Brooklyn/Mooresville area.

She is survived by a brother, Lt. Col.(Retired) Raymond Hobson of AL; sister, Ruth Ann York of Monrovia, IN; 13 nieces and nephews, 27 great nieces and nephews and several great great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by 3 brothers, Weldon, Paul and Ben Hobson; 1 sister, Mary Margaret McIntyre.

Calling hours for Frances will be from 1-2pm, Monday, July 21, 2008 with the funeral to begin at 2pm, Monday, July 21, 2008 at Jones Family Mortuary. Bill Van Horn will officiate the service and Frances will be laid to rest at Brooklyn Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Centenary United Methodist Church or Charity of Choice.
