Obituary for F. Norman Thompson

F. Norman Thompson, Mooresville, passed away on August 17, 2015. He was born September 23, 1930 to Floyd A. and Euthia (Pittman) Thompson. His parents, three brothers, Gail, Gene and Ralph preceded him in death.

He married his high school sweetheart, Juanita (Deitz) Thompson on December 4, 1948. After a love blessed in heaven for over 66 years, she passed away March 13, 2012. Their union produced Karen (Dale) Beam, Linda (Bill) Pacey, Lora (Sandy) Butler, Norman (Cathy) Thompson and Karol Ann Thompson. He also leaves 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Norm retired from Eli Lilly in 1986. He and Juanita enjoyed over 26 years playing golf, being snow birds in Florida and loving their large family. Between them they had 5 hole in ones.

Blessed to find a second love, Norm married Roselyn (Hatten) Crawford Thompson on November 23, 2013, and she survives. Their union provided Norm with two more children, Clif (Tammy) Crawford and Tom (Melissa) Crawford, 11 more grandchildren and one more great-grandchild.

Norm was a Mason for 63 years and a member of Life Line Baptist Church.

Visitation is scheduled on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 from 4- 8 p.m. and 9-10 a.m., Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Jones Family Mortuary, 4165 East Allison Road, Mooresville. There will be a 7:30 p.m. Masonic Service on Wednesday evening. A 10 a.m. funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Tim Lindsey on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Jones Family Mortuary with burial at Clayton Cemetery.
