Obituary for Everett S. (Sparky) Reynolds

Everett S. "Sparky" Reynolds, 84 years of age passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at his residence in Mooresville. He was born July 18, 1924 in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Joe and Emma Reynolds. He married Velma (Bell) Reynolds on November 2, 1947.

Everett was a current resident of Mooresville, IN, he lived in Indianapolis, IN for most of his life, Huntington, West Virginia for 17 years and in Dayton, OH for a short while. He was an Army Veteran from World War II and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Plainfield, IN. He was a well known member of the Community and was a recipient of the Channel 13 Silver Lining Award. Everett was a Professional Prize Fighter for 6 years and was a Golden Glove Champion in 1941, 1942, and 1943. He was also a Self-Employed Barber and worker at Bob and Don's in Mooresville, IN.

Sparky is survived by his Wife, Velma (Bell) Reynolds of Mooresville, IN; 1 Son, Rocky Lee Reynolds of Plainfield, IN; 2 Grandchildren, Christa "Reynolds" Barker and Cassandra L. Reynolds; 2 Great Grandchildren, Carli and Calvin Hines; 7 Sisters: Reba Poole, Phyllis Hazlett, Betty Myers, Danise Niday, Norma Riffet, Dana Carnes, and Donna Sexton; and also 2 Brothers, Herbert Reynolds and Herman Reynolds. He is also preceded in death by 4 Sisters: Dorothy Barlow, Deleda Meadows, Linda Reynolds, and Juanita Reynolds.

Calling hours for Everett will be from 4-8pm, Friday, June 12, 2009 and from 9:30-10am, Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Jones Family Mortuary. The funeral will be at 10am, Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Jones Family Mortuary. Pastor Gerald Dooley and Pastor Jeff Tague will officiate the service. Everett will be laid to rest at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield, IN. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
