Obituary for Evelyn L. Welty

Evelyn L. Welty, 99, Avon, passed away peacefully to join loved ones in heaven on February 25, 2015. Evelyn was born to Oscar Guy and Emma Gertrude (Marley) York on May 18, 1915 in Hall, IN. Evelyn was a 1933 Monrovia High School graduate. Evelyn married Delmas A. Welty on March 9, 1935.

She was always a farm wife, homemaker and active in her church and community. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church in Hall. She was also a member of the Homemakers Club in Morgan County. She lived nearly all of her life in Hall.

Evelyn is survived by a son, Richard L. (Marlene) Welty of Needham; a daughter, Marianne (Robert) Berlin of Avon; four grandchildren, Sara Robards, Keith Welty, Aaron Berlin and Thomas Berlin; four step grandchildren, Lori Bowman, Greg Robards, Gary Robards and Beth Tharpe and 22 great grandchildren. Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Guy and Emma Gertrude York; husband, Delmas A. Welty; a brother, Joe York and two grandsons, David and Todd Welty.

Family and friends may gather from 3-7 p.m., Saturday, February 28, 2015 and 1-2 p.m., Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor David Neese will officiate the 2 p.m. celebration of life service on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Jones Family Mortuary. Evelyn will be laid to rest in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall.
