Obituary for Eugene Randolph Robbins

Eugene Randolph "Bus" Robbins, 84, of Monrovia, IN ascended to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 13, 2010. He was created on August 23, 1925 to the late Ralph and Hazel (Spoon) Robbins. He married Phyllis L. (Shields) Robbins on December 1, 1946.

Eugene served in the Army during WWII where he was a gunners mate before being honorably discharged in 1946. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church in Hall, IN, worked for Wright-Bachman Lumber Company as a carpenter in Indianapolis for many years, member of Odd Fellow Lodge in Monrovia where he served as Grand Marshall for 2 years and enjoyed building clocks.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis L. (Shields) Robbins of Monrovia, 1 daughter, Glenda Ann Murphy of Indianapolis, 2 sons: Garry Eugene Robbins of Texas and Dale W. Robbins of Monrovia, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 1 great, great grandchild, 1 brother, Bud Robbins of Martinsville and 1 sister, Lois Marie England of Freedom. He was also preceded by 1 brother, Bob Robbins.

Visitation will be 5-8pm, Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Jones Family Mortuary and also 1 hr. prior to the service. Funeral services will be at 10am, Wednesday, June 16, 2010 also at Jones Family Mortuary with Phil Whisler officiating. He will be laid to rest at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hall, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
