Obituary for Donald Lee Ballard

Donald Lee Ballard, 68 years of age passed away Monday, January 26, 2009. He was born March 25, 1940 in McCrory, AK to the late Arlice and Amy (Dodd) Ballard. He married Delores V. (Fields) Ballard of Indianapolis, IN on May 30, 1959.

Donald has lived in Indianapolis, IN for 18 years; Fort Wayne, IN for 28 years; and McCrory, AK for 19 years. He was a member of the Caring and Sharing Worship Center in Indianapolis, IN and loved woodworking. Before retiring in 2002, he was a Pastor for 26 years for the Church of God in several different communities.

Donald is survived by his Wife, Delores V. (Fields) Ballard of Indianapolis, IN; 3 Children: Randy L. Ballard of Cincinnati, OH, Thomas L. Ballard of Marion, IN, and Candace R. Balzano of Plainfield, IN; 5 Grandchildren: Cassandra, Vanessa, and Gabriel Ballard and Danielle and Gabriela Balzano; 2 Brothers, Delmar (Bud) Ballard of AK and Jerry Wayne Ballard of Columbus, IN.

Calling hours for Donald will be from 5-8pm, Thursday, January 29, 2009 and from 9-10am, Friday, January 30, 2009 at Jones Crossing Banquet Center (right next door to Jones Family Mortuary). The funeral will be at 10am, Friday, January 30, 2009 at Jones Crossing Banquet Center in Mooresville, IN. Rev. Jerry Ballard, Rev. Randy Ballard, and Rev. Thomas Ballard will officate Donald's Service. He will be laid to rest at Clayton Cemetery in Clayton, IN. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Caring and Sharing Worship Center; Community Caring & Sharing-Food Pantry 2830 S. Holt Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46241. Jones Family Mortuary handled the arrangements.
