Obituary for Destol W. (Dick) Stephens

Destol W. "Dick" Stephens, 64, of Mooresville, IN died on Friday, January 21, 2011. He was born on April 30, 1946 in Winfield, TN to Hurstle and Della (Burchfield) Stephens. He married Jeannie (McCloud) Stephens on October 12, 1969.

He lived in Mooresville for most of his life and in Winfield, TN for 16 years. He was currently a Dump Truck Driver for Venice Trucking Company in Belleville, IN for 3 years. Previously, he was a Truck Driver for Mooresville Block Company for 33 years. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved his pet dog, Thenie.

He is survived by his wife,Jeannie (McCloud) Stephens of Mooresville,IN; 1 son, Eric Stephens of Mooresville,IN; 3 grandchildren: Mikeala Hook of Avon, Annabell and Emily Stephens both of Mooresville,IN; 12 siblings and a special aunt, Margaret Burchfield of TN. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hurstle & Della (Burchfield) Stephens.

Visitation will be from 2-6pm, Sunday, January 23, 2011 and 9-10am, Monday January 24, 2011 at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, IN. Rev. Paul Chambers will officiate the 10am funeral services on Monday January 24, 2011. He will be laid to rest at West Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Clarian Hospice, 1815 Capitol Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46202.
