Obituary for Della E. Whalen

Della Edna Whalen, 93, Mooresville, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Countryside Meadows in Avon, IN. She was born on January 8, 1919 in Wallace, IN to the late Pearly and Ollie Mae (Taylor) Bowman. Della married the late William Paul Whalen.

Della lived most of her life in Mooresville, IN. She was a factory worker at Allison's Transmission in Indianapolis for 4 years and was also a cook at Bluff Ave. School in Indianapolis for a year and a half. Della was a member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Mooresville. She was also a 50 year member of Waverly Order of Eastern Star.

Della is survived by 2 children: Dewey Paul (Linda) Whalen of Kingman, IN and Phyllis (Otis) Kloss of Mooresville, IN; 2 grandchildren: Daniel Whalen and Christina Roller; 4 great grandchildren: David Whalen, Machaela Kloss, Andrew Kloss and Mia Roller; 1 sister, Virginia Bowman. She is preceded by 1 granddaughter, Debbie Whalen Myers.

Friends may call from 1-2pm, Friday, April 6, 2012 at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, Mooresville with services following at 2pm. Pastor Everett Barnard will officiate. Della will be laid to rest at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Glenns Valley.
