Obituary for Clara D. Sanford

Clara D. Sanford, 83 years of age passed away Monday, July 19, 2010. She was born March 23, 1927 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Homer James and Fannie (Kinser) Calvert. She married the late Henry A. "Sonny" Sanford on May 15, 1942. Clara lived in Clayton, IN and most of her life in Indianapolis, IN. She was a member of the Westview Baptist Church in Indianapolis and loved spending time with her grandchildren and time in her garden. Clara was an Assembly Line Worker for Link Belt for 25 years before retiring in 1987.

She is survived by 1 Son, James (Judy) Sanford Sr. of Fillmore, IN; 6 Grandchildren: James (Sara) Jr., Robert (Debby) and Jason Sanford, Mike (Kammy), Mark (Stacy) and Matt (Shannon) Meadows; Son in law, Stan Walker; 1 Brother, Homer Calvert Jr.; and 2 Sisters, Pauline Norris and Jean Johnson. She is also preceded in death by 1 Daughter, Sharon Meadows.

Calling hours for Clara will be from 4-8pm, Thursday, July 22, 2010 and 1 hour prior to the service at Jones Family Mortuary. The Funeral Service will be at 11am, Friday, July 23, 2010 at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, IN. Johnie Edwards will officiate the service and Clara will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery.
