Obituary for Charles H. Smock

Charles H. Smock, 91 years of age passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008. He was born September 3, 1916 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Ora and Clara (Hommel) Smock. Charles married Alma E. (Davis) Smock on December 7, 1940.

Charles lived in Monrovia, IN for 63 years and in Indianapolis, IN for 12 years and he was also a WWII Veteran 523rd CA BN and discharged in 1945. He was a 50 year Member of the Monrovia Masonic Lodge #654, Scottish Rite-Indianapolis Valley, Murat Shrine, and the Byam Caravan Club. Before retiring in 1976, he was owner/operator of the Charles Smock Trucking Company in Plainfield, IN for 30 years.

Charles is survived by his Wife, Alma E. (Davis) Smock of Monrovia, IN; Close Niece, Tina Smock Phelps of Greenwood, IN; Several Nieces and Nephews, and Special Friends, Bill and Vivian Lee. He is also preceded in death by 1 Sister, Olive Faubion and 5 Brothers: Clarence, Hallard, William, George, and Donald Smock.

Calling hours for Charles will be from 4-8pm, Friday, May 16, 2008 and the funeral will be at 11:30am, Saturday, May 17, 2008 both held at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, IN. Eric Kersey will officiate the service and Charles will be laid to rest at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hall, IN. Military Rites will be held at the Cemetery.
