Obituary for Charles A. Collins

Charles A. Collins, 80, of Indianapolis, IN, died on November 11, 2012. Charles was born to Clarence & Louise (Osborn) Collins on March 20, 1932 in Indianapolis,IN. Charles was a 1950 Decatur Central High School Graduate and earned his Bachelors degree from Butler University. Charles was a Korean War Army Veteran.

Charles was an Accountant for Detroit Diesel Allison for 30 plus years before retiring in 1990. Charles has been a life long resident of Indianapolis, IN. Charles enjoyed Indy Car Racing.

Charles is survived by 3 children, Steve Collins of Indianapolis, IN, Cathy Collins-Mauldin of Littleton, CO & Duane Collins of Indianapolis, IN; 4 grandchildren, Jasmine Hersberger, Victoria Boyd, Michel Collins & Alexandria Mauldin & 3 great grandchildren, Ronald Hersberger, Henry Boyd & Savanna Hersberger. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence & Louise (Osborn) Collins and a brother, Richard "Dick" Collins.

Calling hours will be from 1-2 pm, Friday, November 16, 2012 at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, IN. Jennifer Silvers will officiate the 2 pm funeral service on Friday, November 16, 2012 at Jones Family Mortuary. Charles will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN.
