Obituary for Cecil A. Palmer

Cecil A. Palmer, 80 years of age passed away Saturday, May 16, 2009. He was born January 3, 1929 in West Newton, IN to the late Harley P. and Isabelle F. (Menefee) Palmer. He married Talta R. (Toms) Palmer of Indianapolis, IN on September 17, 1949.

Cecil was a lifetime resident of the West Newton area. He was a 1948 graduate of Decatur Central High School and also attended Indiana Central College for 2 years. Cecil was a member of the Camby Community Church and was an avid Nascar and sports fan. He was a Time Study Engineer for General Motors for 28 years before retiring in 1987.

He is survived by his Beloved Wife, Talta R. Palmer; Beloved Daughter, Dianna L. (Terry) Hardy; Beloved Son, Dennis R. (Linda) Palmer; 5 Beloved Grandchildren: Jennifer (Jose'), Melissa (Derek), Ashley (Mark), and Ryan and Rachael Palmer; and Beloved Sister, Fern Blair.

Calling hours for Cecil will be from 4-8pm, Tuesday, May 19, 20009 at Jones Family Mortuary and from 9-10am, Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at Camby Community Churh prior to the service. The funeral will be at 10am, Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at Camby Community Church with Charlie Paxton to officiate. Cecil will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greenwood, IN. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society.
