Obituary for Cecil E. O'Dell

Cecil E. O'Dell, 83 years of age passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2009. He was born June 26, 1926 in Bicknell, IN to the late Emory and Laura (Swan) O'Dell. He married Delores (Kixmiller) O'Dell of Camby, IN on March 15, 1947.

Cecil lived in Camby, IN for 17 years; Shelburn, IN for several years, and in Bicknell, IN for 28 years. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Brooklyn Church of God, Bicknell VFW, Bicknell American Legion and Past Post Commander, Shelburn Masonic Lodge #369. He retired from US Department of Labor after 25 years as a Coal Mine Inspector and Field Office Supervisor in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Indiana.

He is survived by his Wife, Delores (Kixmiller) O'Dell of Camby, IN; 3 Children: Penny L. (Ronnie) Bell of Lewisvillle, IN, Sid O'Dell of Huntsville, IL, and Bob (Micki) O'Dell of Shadyside, OH; 8 Grandchilden; 9 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Granddaughter; 2 Sisters, Martha Pigg of Sandborn, IN and Wanda Moistner of MS; and 1 Brother, Arthur Joe Sanders.

There will be a Graveside Service for Cecil at 9am, Friday, September 25, 2009 at Salem Cemetery in Westphalia, IN where he will be laid to rest. Rick Swan will officiate the Graveside Service. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Gideions or Bible for the Blind.
