Obituary for Billy Ray Flanary

Billy Ray "Bill" Flanary, 57, of Mooresville, passed away Friday, June 5, 2015 . He was born to Delley James and Frances Louise (Grounds) Flanary on June 1, 1958 in Indianapolis. Bill graduated from Moresville High School in 1978. Bill married Karen (Hurst) Flanary on March 24, 1978.

Currently, Bill was a Group Leader for United Technologies Carrier for 38 years. He was a member of Steel Workers Union Local 1999. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, turkey shoots and spending time with family and friends.

Bill is survived by his wife of 37 years, Karen Flanary of Mooresville; four children, Andrew Ray Flanary of Indianapolis, Bradley (Corey) Flanary of Martinsville, Melissa (David) McKinley of Mooresville, Stephanie (Richard) Cave of Bargersville; five grandchildren, Miranda, Lydia, Kane, Lindsay, Cara; a brother, James Flanary of CO; two sisters, Anna Gould of Mooresville and Brenda (Allsup) Davis of Mooresville. He is preceded in death by his parents, Delley and Frances Flanary; a daughter, Kari; three grandchildren, Natasha, Flex Ray and Eli.

Family and friends may gather from 4-8 p.m., Monday, June 8 and 10:30-11:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 9 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Terry Crist will officiate the 11:30 a.m. celebration of life service on Tuesday, June 9 at Jones Family Mortuary. Bill will be laid to rest in Mooresville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children's Hospital, 30 South Meridian Street, Suite 200, Indianapolis, IN 46204-3509.
