Obituary for Bernard (Bernie) J. Auberry Sr.

Bernard "Bernie" J. Auberry Sr., 85 years of age passed away Saturday, November 14, 2009. He was born July 25, 1924 in Washington, IN to the late Edward H. and Lillian A. (Summitt) Auberry. He married Dorothy F. (Taylor) Auberry in 2001 of Mooresville, IN.

He lived in Mooresville, IN; Decatur Township (Indianapolis) for 55 years and in Washington, IN for 30 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran; member of the St. Ann's Catholic Church in Indianapolis, IN; and St. Simon's Catholic Churh in Washington, IN. He was also a Life Member of the Indianapolis VFW Post 908, Life Member of the Moose Lodge in Washington, IN; Knights of Columbus out of Indianapolis, IN; Washington Eagles Club; CBI, Indiana Fraternal Order of Police; and the Decatur Township Democratic Club. Bernie was a building superintendent for the Indiana State Museum in Indianapolis, IN for 15 years; Marion County Sherrif for 20 years; and a self employed painting contractor "B.J. Auberry Painting" for several years out of Indianapolis, IN.

Bernie is survived by his Wife, Dorothy F. (Taylor) Auberry of Mooresville, IN; 3 Sons: Bernard J. Auberry Jr. of Trafalgar, IN, Richard Auberry of Indianapolis, IN, and Mark Auberry of Indianapolis, IN; 4 Grandchildren; 1 Great Granddaughter; 2 Sisters, Dolores and Kate. He is also preceded in death by 1 Sister, Alice Gregory; 1 Brother, Robert Auberry; and Previous Spouse, Mildred L. Auberry.

Calling hours for Bernie will be from 2-8pm, Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Jones Family Mortuary. Jones Family Mortuary handled the arrangements. Memorial Contributions may be made to Meadow Lakes Alzheimer's Unit.
