Obituary for Alvenia Dean Gershanoff

Alvenia "Dean" Gershanoff 82, Mooresville, died Tuesday, February 22, 2005. She was born October 28, 1922 to Alvin J. and Lavenia (Harris) Johnson. She was a concession stand worker at the Indianapolis 500 Race Track during the 1950's. She was co-owner of Fish & Poultry, Indianapolis for 10 years. Mrs. Gershanoff was a sales clerk at L.S. Ayres, Indianapolis for five years and co-owner of John's Catering business in California, 10 years, during the 1970's. She was a member of Souls Harbor Assembly of God, Plainfield.

Survivors include sons Larry Gershanoff, Mooresville, John Gershanoff, Yuba City, CA; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; brother David Alvin Johnson, Plainfield, IN. She was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2005 in Souls Harbor Assembly of God, 8434 E. St. Rd. 267, Plainfield, with calling there from 9 a.m. Additional calling will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2005 at Jones Family Mortuary. Burial will be in Mooresville Cemetery. She was the widow of John E. Gershanoff.
